Company speech

Company speeches that sound like people, not a mission statement

At a company anniversary or the Christmas party, everyone listens closely: will what we achieved be noticed? A good speech names names, tells the story of the second-hand van in the garage and thanks the right people, instead of reading the values off the website.

RedeStudio helps you gather and organise the material and writes a draft that suits the occasion, the audience and you. Whether you run the company, host the evening or speak on behalf of the team.

How RedeStudio helps

  • Guided questions about the occasion, the audience, milestones, people and stories from the company, so the speech gets specific.
  • Anything confidential, such as figures, negotiations or names, goes under “Please avoid”. The speech leaves it out.
  • A first draft at the right length, written with the help of AI, without marketing speak or empty phrases. You adjust it and export it as a Word file or PDF.

How to structure a company anniversary speech

  1. Welcome

Welcome the guests, name any guests of honour and state the occasion. At big events, a few names beat a long list.

  2. Looking back

The company's story or the past year, told through a few concrete moments rather than figures.

  3. People and achievements

Recognise teams and individuals, with names and examples, from every part of the business and not just the boardroom.

  4. A story

Something that happened at work that shows what the company is really like, and that guests can follow too.

  5. Looking ahead

What comes next, honest and tangible.

  6. Thanks and handover

Thanks to everyone, including families and customers, and a handover to the buffet, the awards or the music.

Five tips for your speech

  1. Names, not slogans

“Our people are our greatest asset” has been said a thousand times. “Sue Patel was here on day one and still knows every job we've ever done” hasn't.

  2. Think of the whole audience

If families, customers or other guests are in the room, abbreviations and in-jokes need explaining, or they go.

  3. Use figures sparingly

One number that tells a story works: 300 boilers converted in one winter. A slide full of KPIs belongs in the staff meeting.

  4. Stay honest

If the year was tough, you can say so. Recognition sounds more credible when it doesn't pretend everything was easy.

  5. Keep it short before the buffet

Five to eight minutes is enough. Nobody has ever complained that the speech before dinner was too short.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a company anniversary speech be?

Five to ten minutes is a good guide, roughly 600 to 1,250 spoken words. If several people speak, for example the owner, a staff representative and a guest, each speech should be on the shorter side.

What should a Christmas party speech include?

A short look back at the year with two or three concrete moments, sincere thanks to the team and everyone who helped, a look ahead and a smooth handover to the party. Three to five minutes is plenty.

How do I avoid clichés in a company speech?

Replace every general statement with an example. Instead of “we're a strong team”, tell the story of how the team fixed boilers on Christmas Eve. RedeStudio asks for exactly these stories and keeps marketing language out of the draft.

Can I enter internal information?

Yes. Your input is stored encrypted on servers in Germany and never used to train AI models. For professional use, the Pro plan includes a data processing agreement. Anything that still shouldn't appear in the speech goes under “Please avoid”.
